Poster Art Competition
This year, the Haunted Huntingburg Blues Festival is returning bigger than ever as the first music festival for Huntingburg’s new Market Street Park. The sounds of blues music will be heard alongside craft beer, wine, and bourbon/spirit vendors, food trucks and booths, haunted “Monsters, Mayhem, & Madness” trail, and family fun activities.
The Haunted Huntingburg committee wants an artistic, unique, and fun portrayal of what’s to come this year which is why they are calling all artists to compete to design the posters that will be displayed throughout the region and online.
Cash awards will be given to the top three finalists as well as some additional perks.First place will receive $500, second place $250, and third place $100. First through fourth place will also have the image of their artwork, name, and short biography on the festival’s website and on social media promotions, as well as receive a certificate of achievement, noting the place they received that they can place in their individual portfolios.
All entries artwork will also be displayed on Huntingburg’s Historic 4th Street on the weeks leading up to the event and will remain a few days after the event.
To enter, first read the “Official Competition Rules & Regulations” found below. Then, fill out the “Official Entry Form” and design your artwork to the specifications noted in the rules and regulations. The cost to enter this competition is $25 per artwork. The artwork should be Halloween-inspired, be 11” x 14” in size, and include the following text “Haunted Huntingburg Blues Festival” and “October 12 & 13.”
The deadline to enter and turn in your artwork is fittingly July 13, 2018 (Friday the 13th). Entries can either be turned in in-person to Huntingburg City Hall located at 508 E. 4th Street, Huntingburg, IN 47542, during normal business hours, or by mail to Destination Huntingburg, PO Box 47, Huntingburg, IN 47542.
Huntingburg City Hall hours on normal business days are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time. All entrants are encouraged to protect their artwork accordingly as to not be damaged during delivery if they choose to mail in their artwork.
This competition is presented in part by Friends of the Arts, Inc., a not-for profit organization whose purpose is to promote and encourage a greater understanding of the arts in Dubois County, Indiana. The board is comprised of community volunteers who have demonstrated their commitment to the arts over the years.
